Dear Beloved Community,

On Sunday one of the bible passages was Acts 4: 32-25 in which Luke gives a brief description of life in the new Christian community. Many of Jesus’ early followers were Jews, who had lived within Jewish traditions. These traditions involved a strong sense of community, from which Jesus’ disciples now found themselves excluded. As they sought to tell others the news of Jesus’ resurrection, the disciples built new communities.  Within that early Christian community was a generous lifestyle, encouraging one another, sharing with one another, praying together, learning together and supporting those in need.  Of course, they weren’t perfect, but they realised they were meant to be a community that was open to others.

As we begin a new week this Bible passage is a gentle reminder for us all at Kilternan to continue to live our lives as a generous, open community.

Holy Spirit,

help us to have eyes to see those who are in need,

hearts that know what it is to care,

and hands that are open to share what we have.

Amen.

Blessings

Play Café Gets OWT! (Outside with Toddlers)

Our normal Wednesday morning schedule returns for all our crew this week. We’ll be back with a spring in our step too with fruit squeezing, spring farming, farm shopping, flower planting, spring blossom painting and more. We had hoped to begin to lean into the OWT! (Outside With Toddlers!) part of our programme and make the move back outside this week, however looking at the current weather forecast it looks like we will remain inside for now!

We have reached capacity with bookings for this week, however if you wish to join the cancellation list please get in touch with Lynn. 087 -695 7061

Bumps & Babes

If you are a new parent, or parent to be, you are invited to come join us and enjoy a cuppa in company on the couches in the Gathering Grounds from 10am on Wednesday. The informal friendly meet-up is a space where you can relax, chat and meet others in the community.  So, if you’re expecting or have a baby from new-born to pre-walking, come alone or bring a friend. A warm welcome awaits you and there’s no need to book.

For more information contact either Julie  gatheringgrounds@kilternanparish.ie or Lynn 087 695 7061.

Inclusive Family Play & Meet-Up

Our next Inclusive Family Play & Meet Up is Saturday 20th April 11.30am-1pm. This group is for children with additional needs, their siblings and parents, guardians, caregivers and grandparents too. A small group session, with sensory activities and experiences and invitations to play. This is an opportunity for caregivers to enjoy a cuppa and meet other parents. Parents/caregivers will stay and be available to their children during the session, however, there will be support on hand throughout from the team. Family spaces can be booked through the parish website. For more information and details contact Lynn 087-695 7061 0r email cfm@kilternanparish.ie .

Kitchen Table Project

The Kitchen Table Project continues to support family centred faith formation. Each week we send an email to those families signed up, with a simple idea to use during the week. We hope to encourage and inspire families to nurture faith at home in the everyday.  If you think this is something you are interested in, or the time now feels right for your family to join in, you can get in touch with Lynn, and she’ll get you signed up. The structure of the initiative allows families can sign up at any time without feeling they have missed out. Let’s pass on a vibrant faith to the next generation.
