Dear Beloved Community,

On Sunday we celebrated Pentecost, the day when the church celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit. It’s a day of celebration and a day of challenge. It’s a day of praise and a day of prayer. The disciples were confused by Pentecost; encountering many people they had not met before, and there was some misunderstanding – ‘they are drunk’. A reframing of their thinking, and the disciples realised that their faith journey was taking them in a new direction. Peter began the journey by referring to the Scripture he knew, that of Spirit-given dreams and visions. By widening and growing God’s kingdom, the prophecy was becoming a reality.

How about us? Are we always willing to step out in faith and welcome others, even if there is misunderstanding, embarrassment or the challenge of change?  As we look forward to Rob’s return next week, may we continue to dream dreams and recognise visions for our worshipping community here in Kilternan and the wider community.

The wind of God is blowing!

The fire of God is blazing!

The joy of God is flowing in this place!

Blessings,

Kilternan Ministry Team
